2nd Card [Backdated to yesterday night]

[They spliced her. They kidnapped her and they spliced her. Sure, giving her wings when she arrived is one thing, but she didn't volunteer to be taken away so they could give her scales, fangs, mess with her eyes and get rid of her hair. She can't be out like this - she needs to get back into her apartment, and... stay there until she changes back. Or until she can figure out some other kind of solution.

Melanie's lucky it's dark out, or else it would be a hell of a lot harder to try and sneak back home - and she's lucky that she still has her legs, too. It would be pretty difficult to miss a human-sized thing slithering around in the middle of the night, after all. Of course, there's no real way of knowing for sure if she'll manage to get back without being seen, but damn it, she'll try.]

[Later, when she's back home:]

It's Melanie. Sorry for being away, but the sudden absence wasn't exactly my idea.

Either way, I'm back now, so I guess that's what matters. Did I miss anything interesting?

[OOC: Melanie's back from her mallynapping! And she's been spliced with a black mamba, HOORAY. She'll be looking pretty different from usual (apologies, my editing skills seem to be pretty crummy these days), and she may start acting a bit different since splicing changes both appearance and personality, so uh. As you wish! [Yeah he totally made a Princess Bride reference intentionally!

Since he still has her hand, he skips all the hassle of crossing the bridge to put them right in front of the coaster.]

[Unfortunately, Princess Bride was way before her time, so Melanie won't be getting that reference.

... Then Kurt teleports, and here they are! She tries not to let the resulting dizziness wear her out too much, though.]

Come on, let's go! [... Yeah, she's a lot more excited than she originally let on. It has been a while, after all.]

[He's happy to see that. Really, it's not being at Luceti Land that's got him in good spirits, it's the fact he's able to make her happy the way he has tonight.]

Right, ladies first. [He gestures her ahead to pick a seat. They have their choice of where to sit.]

[And Melanie will go ahead and take the seat at the front of the coaster because hey, why not.

Either way, Melanie is happy and Kurt has managed to change her mood for the better. Will it change again when she gets back home? Possibly, but for now all she cares about is having fun and enjoying herself.]

[And he joins her soon after. He considers sliding his arm around her, this being a date and all, but when the ride jolts to a start, he realizes he should wait for a slower ride for that.]

[Yeah, a slower ride would probably be better for that sort of thing. Either way, Melanie is pretty damn excited about this. She lets out an eager laugh once the ride speeds up.

Sure, she's flown through Gotham at high speeds on a flying card and a roller coaster doesn't really compare, but that's not going to stop her from having fun.]

[In Kurt's case, he has no reservations about putting his hands in the air, whooping at the crazy falls, and generally just getting into the whole thing.]

[It isn't long before Melanie joins Kurt with the whooping and whatnot. It's a fun experience, and a good way to take her mind off of the fact that she's still part snake underneath the hologram.

She's still all smiles once the roller coaster finally slows to a stop.]

That was... fun.

[And there's still the rest of the park to check out!]

[And it's still all hers!]

Very fun. So where next?

I think I'd like something a bit slower this time. [Seeing as she'd at least like to have some time to really recover from any resulting dizziness.]

Maybe the ferris wheel?

[Ahh, the ferris wheel! The perfect romantic ride. He gives a nod and takes her hand again.]

One wheel coming up! [And one bamf later... they're in front of it and it's currently loading. Clearly Kurt has super timing. (Or the park is pretty empty.)]

[... Yeah, ferris wheel is definitely a good idea. If they went on another fast ride she'd probably feel like throwing up. But hey! Slow ride, so she won't have to worry about that.

Melanie gets on and takes a seat. The dizziness is gradually wearing off and she just feels... happy. It's nice, considering how rare it was for her to feel that way back in Gotham.]

[Kurt just takes a seat beside her. Once they start moving, he'll probably try to slide his arm around her. But not just yet. The ocean is starting to come into view.]

Wow, this is some view, yeah?

[Well, arm around her or not, Melanie is going to shift slightly so she can rest her head against Kurt's shoulder.]

It is. [She means it, too. She had gone soaring over cities with her family, but they were always in a rush. Either trying to get somewhere or trying to get away. Melanie never really had a chance to just sit back and just enjoy a view like this.]

[Once she does that, his arm inevitably ends up around her. There's a momentary bit of weirdness when his hand doesn't brush past her simulated hair, but he forgets about that quickly. Focus!]

Hey, Melanie? It's nice having you back.

[That arm around her just leads to Melanie snuggling up a bit closer.]

Thanks. It's... nice to be back.

[With how close she is, he has to wonder much this really means to her. She might be weird looking right now, but in a week? She'll be fine. He's always going to look like this. His gaze drifts away from the ocean, off to somewhere else.]

Hey... was there anyone you were close to? Back home, I mean?

Just one. [But she doesn't exist to him anymore.] But we hadn't really spoken in a while.

Ahh... too bad, huh? [Well, obviously not bad for Kurt, but...]

It doesn't really matter. [Except it does because she still cares about Terry, but there's nothing to be done about that.] I'm here now, anyway. It's better for me to just focus on that.

... ahh, yeah, I guess that's one way to look at it. [Honestly, it's been nearly a year, maybe it's time for him to start doing the same.]

I guess it is. [Who knows, maybe after a while she'll actually be able to forget all about the people and the life she left back in Gotham.

... Okay, no, that's a lie. But it's a nice thought, at least.]

What about you? Did you have anybody you were close to back home?

Well... yeah. [She was honest. It was his turn to do the same.]

Her name is Amanda. We'd been together for a few months. She was the first person to like me despite... looking like this. And not just like, but actually like the way I look.

Hm. [She smiles, and tilts her head to look up at Kurt.] She has good taste in men.

[And normally, now would be when she'd try to kiss him... but considering her current state, Melanie is going to refrain. Better to save anything beyond hugs to when she's back to normal.]

[Good taste? More like... weird tastes.]

It's been a year since I saw her. But maybe you're right... about focusing on being here.
