[It’s late evening when Melanie returns from her mission, and despite the rain, she’s just glad to be back.

She's got a few small scrapes and bruises here and there and she's feeling exhausted, but she'll worry about all of that later. First she's off to the item shop so she can get a damn umbrella, because like hell she's walking back to CH1 in this rain. Sure, she doesn't mind the weather, but she's not exactly fond of getting soaking wet, either.

So, once that's taken care of, Melanie will head back to her apartment so she can clean herself up.

... Oh, yeah. Should probably take care of something else, too.]

[Voice; Locked to Kurt]
Happy anniversary. [Six months is something that should be acknowledged, right? ... Well, it's the longest that she's ever been with anyone, at least. So that counts for something.]

...Really? Can you show me? [Because that rain. It's a doozy.]

Yeah, sure. Just a minute. [AND THEN MELANIE DIRECTS RAPUNZEL TO THE UMBRELLAS fancy that.]

[Astounding. She picks one up and weighs it in her hand.]

It's...pretty strange-looking...

I guess it is if you've never seen one before, but you just open it up and hold it over your head in the rain. Then you can stay dry.

But you might want to avoid opening it indoors - apparently it's bad luck. [Though Melanie's tone sounds more amused than anything.]

action;

[gleamed]

[Her eyes widen.]

Bad luck? So bad things will happen if you open one indoors?

action;

[tenofspades]

[... Probably should have clarified.]

It's just a superstition. [hence why she didn't sound serious.]

action;

[gleamed]

--Oh! Right. That's pretty silly, then. But why would you open one inside, anyway?

action;

[tenofspades]

[Oh good, she actually knew what 'superstition' meant.]

Whatever the reason is, it's probably not a very good one.

action;

[gleamed]

[Only because her mother chastised her for believing in ghosts when she was young.

Still, she laughs.]

I wouldn't think so! Oh--unless there was a hole in the roof and it was raining.

action;

[tenofspades]

... Yeah, something like that, I guess. But unless you make a habit of blowing up your ceiling, I don't think you'll have to worry much.

action;

[gleamed]

[She pauses.] Do...many people blow up their ceilings around here?

action;

[tenofspades]

[Pfft.]

Let's hope not.

action;

[gleamed]

Well--that's a relief. It wouldn't be a very safe place to live if that were the case.

action;

[tenofspades]

[... This girl should probably steer clear of Gambit if she wants to avoid explosions.]

You never really know what can happen in this place. [Grin.] So I'd say maybe you should keep the umbrella just to be sure.

action;

[gleamed]

[And Tony Stark. That shouldn't be too much of a problem somehow.]

Right. I guess it couldn't hurt to be prepared!

[Yes that too.]

At least now you don't have to worry about getting wet.

[She swings the umbrella around and grins as well.] And it was great to meet you! I'll see you around, alright?
