[It’s late evening when Melanie returns from her mission, and despite the rain, she’s just glad to be back.

She's got a few small scrapes and bruises here and there and she's feeling exhausted, but she'll worry about all of that later. First she's off to the item shop so she can get a damn umbrella, because like hell she's walking back to CH1 in this rain. Sure, she doesn't mind the weather, but she's not exactly fond of getting soaking wet, either.

So, once that's taken care of, Melanie will head back to her apartment so she can clean herself up.

... Oh, yeah. Should probably take care of something else, too.]

Happy anniversary. [Six months is something that should be acknowledged, right? ... Well, it's the longest that she's ever been with anyone, at least. So that counts for something.]

I'm sure we've got a lot of other things in common, too. But that's why we have to get to know each other better! So we can figure out what.

[She smiles.]

Yeah. We've got time to get to know each other again. [Though the question is just how much time. It's always hard to know for sure in this place.]

Exactly! Oh--do you like to bake? We could bake together sometime!

I didn't do it a lot back home, but since coming here I've developed a habit of making late-night cupcakes from time to time. [Why? Because why not? 8|]

I love cupcakes! We should definitely share recipes. [DEFINITELY.]

...What are you looking for, anyway? I could help you!

Oh, I was just coming in to get an umbrella. [Y'know. Because of the rain and whatnot.]

A...a what? What's an umbrella?

...Really? Can you show me? [Because that rain. It's a doozy.]

Yeah, sure. Just a minute. [AND THEN MELANIE DIRECTS RAPUNZEL TO THE UMBRELLAS fancy that.]

[Astounding. She picks one up and weighs it in her hand.]

It's...pretty strange-looking...

I guess it is if you've never seen one before, but you just open it up and hold it over your head in the rain. Then you can stay dry.

But you might want to avoid opening it indoors - apparently it's bad luck. [Though Melanie's tone sounds more amused than anything.]

[Her eyes widen.]

Bad luck? So bad things will happen if you open one indoors?

[... Probably should have clarified.]

It's just a superstition. [hence why she didn't sound serious.]
